Producers form ‘script-to-screen’ partnership with Dimension and Vue

Virtual Circle collective brings leading film professionals together to deliver a slate of independent British films to the big screen.
Announced by Screen Daily at Cannes today, producers Andy Paterson (Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Railway Man) and Annalise Davis (Up There, No Way Up) have teamed up with Dimension and Vue, the largest privately owned cinema operator in Europe, to deliver ambitious and original British films to the big screen.
Davis’ long-standing collaboration with Dimension’s Steve Jelley and Steve Griffith began with Fireworks, one of the first ever British films to use virtual production, and more recently box office hit, No Way Up (Altitude Films), both of which found new ways for virtual production to bring scale and depth to the story-telling process.
Empowered by the government’s announcement of a 40% tax credit for independent films, Paterson remarks that with access to virtual production and Virtual Circle, British filmmakers will have the chance to bring their films to the screen.
The first two films of the initiative, 2040 and Campbeltown ‘69, are preparing to shoot this summer. Details of further films will be announced in due course.
